Kaffebox Acme Ceramic Taster Cup
208 NOK
About the Taster Medium Acme is a New Zealand ceramics maker that has designed cups for the specialty coffee trade since 2011. The Taster range started as a cupping bowl for professional tasting and became a general-purpose handleless cup for filter, brew, and milk drinks. The Medium, at 210 ml, sits in the middle of the range and is the most flexible size: enough room for a filter coffee or a latte, but still compact enough to line up for a cupping session. The interior and exterior are milk white, with Acme's signature colour on the base. Kaffebox 1Zpresso Q Air Manual Coffee Grinder
1054 NOK
Overview The 1Zpresso Q Air is the entry-level model in 1Zpresso's lineup, designed around portability and a low price point. It uses the same 38 mm heptagonal stainless steel burr set found in the standard Q, paired with a polycarbonate body and catch cup to keep weight down. The internal adjustment dial gives 30 clicks per rotation, with the usable range covering pour-over, AeroPress, French press, and cold brew. Espresso is technically possible but slow, since the short handle reduces leverage at fine grind sizes. Who it's for This grinder makes the most sense for solo brewers, travellers, and people just getting into specialty coffee who want a real burr grinder without spending K-Ultra money. The 15-20 g capacity is enough for one cup at a time, not multiple servings. If you regularly brew for two or grind for espresso, a heavier model like the 1Zpresso Q (with a foldable handle) or the X-Ultra will serve you better. Do not wash the burrs or inner mechanism with water, as the 420 stainless steel can rust. Use a brush or air blower for the burrs; the catch cup can be rinsed separately. The plastic catch cup can hold static, so a small drop of water on the beans before grinding (the "RDT" trick) helps reduce mess.
Kaffebox La Marzocco Pico Espresso Coffee Grinder
14434 NOK
Overview The Pico is La Marzocco's home espresso grinder, launched to round out the Linea Micra and Linea Mini lineup but designed to work with any espresso machine using a 58 mm portafilter. It uses 39 mm conical burrs running at a slow 700 to 800 rpm, paired with a brushless induction motor and a sound-dampened chassis. The result is a grinder that's noticeably quieter than vibratory or high-rpm conical grinders, and that produces an 18 g dose in under 10 seconds. The control layout is three rocker switches: two programmable timed doses (typically set for single and double) plus a manual button for single-dosing or topping up. A magnetic portafilter fork holds the basket hands-free while grinding and adjusts vertically to fit different portafilter heights. The hopper holds 300 g of beans and uses an auto-close gate, so you can rotate the hopper off the grinder to swap beans without spilling. Grind adjustment and burr design Grind adjustment is stepless via a top collar, but with a deliberate clicked tactile feel built in. That gives you the resolution of a stepless grinder for dialling in espresso, with the muscle memory of a stepped grinder when moving between grind sizes. The 39 mm conical burr set is smaller than the 64 mm flats found in commercial-style grinders, which is worth understanding: small conicals tend to produce a more textured, bodied shot with a slightly blended flavour profile, while large flats lean toward separated, articulated flavours. Neither is objectively better, but it shapes the kind of cup the Pico is best at. How it compares to the Eureka Mignon Specialita The Specialita is the obvious comparison at this price tier: 55 mm flat burrs, similar footprint, similar programmable dosing. The Pico trades larger flat burrs for tighter integration with the La Marzocco aesthetic, the magnetic adjustable portafilter fork, and the auto-close hopper. If you want flat-burr clarity and the lowest possible price, the Specialita wins. If you want a grinder that visually matches a Linea Micra or Mini, with slightly quieter operation and a more single-dose-friendly hopper, the Pico makes sense. Specifications Burrs 39 mm conical, hardened steel Burr speed 700–800 rpm Motor Brushless induction, 350 W Grind adjustment Stepless collar with stepped tactile feel Dosing 3 buttons: 2 programmable timed doses + manual Grind time ~18 g in under 10 seconds Hopper capacity 300 g, auto-close gate Portafilter fork Magnetic, vertically adjustable Voltage 220 V single phase Dimensions (W × D × H) 154 × 285 × 390 mm Weight 7.8 kg Colour Black, white, light blue, red, silver satin, yellow What's in the box La Marzocco Pico grinder Bean hopper with auto-close gate Magnetic portafilter fork Power cable User manual
Kaffebox Eureka Zeus Coffee Grinder
31054 NOK
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vYgtDrs0Gc&t=1s; Overview The Zeus sits in Eureka's Oro range as their all-purpose commercial grinder. A single 85 mm flat burr set, finished with Eureka's Pure Diamond coating, covers everything from fine espresso to coarse filter, so there's no burr change when you switch brew method. What separates it from most café grinders is the ICE Motion motor: an AC variable-speed drive adjustable from 750 to 1400 RPM. Lower speeds reduce heat and fines, higher speeds increase throughput, so the grinder can be tuned to the bean and the cup. Adjustment is stepless and micrometric, with no stepped clicks limiting dial-in. Note there is no display or programmable timed dosing; grinding is manual via the hands-free portafilter fork. Specifications Burrs 85 mm flat, Pure Diamond Motor ICE Motion AC variable speed, direct drive RPM 750–1400 (adjustable) Power absorbed 400 W, single phase Grind adjustment Stepless micrometric (patented) Productivity 1.2–5 g/s espresso; 2.5–10 g/s filter Hopper capacity 200 g Dimensions (H × W × D) 525 × 225 × 400 mm Weight 17 kg Certification CE Origin Made in Italy (Sesto Fiorentino, Florence) Available colours Matt black (standard), yellow, orange, white Carbon (special colour)

Kaffebox topl To Go Travel Coffee Mug

How the SpillSafe lid works Most travel mugs offer a binary choice: lid open and prone to spilling, or lid closed and slow to drink from. TOPL's lid sits in three positions: open for free sipping, neutral (snaps shut if the cup tips over), and locked for transport. The 360° rim means there is no "right way" to hold the cup, so it suits left- and right-handed drinkers equally and works whether you're walking, driving, or sitting at a desk. Good to know before you buy The cup is intended for coffee, tea, water, and similar non-carbonated, non-thick drinks. Smoothies, soups, and fizzy drinks aren't recommended because they interfere with the lid seal. Hot drinks should also be allowed to cool below 70 °C (158 °F) before locking the lid, since this is a vacuum-insulated mug rather than a pressure-rated flask. The base is 59 mm (2.32 inches) wide, which fits most car cup holders. Kaffebox Zotter Hand-scooped Chocolate Minis - 5 flavors
178 NOK
What's in the box Each of the five bars uses Zotter's signature hand-scooped technique: distinct layers of filling are brushed onto long lanes by hand, stacked one on top of the other, then sealed in a final chocolate coating and cut into bars. The result is more like a layered bonbon in bar form than a conventional filled chocolate. Milk Chocolate Mousse: Dark milk chocolate (60% cocoa minimum) filled with milk chocolate mousse and milk chocolate ganache. Rich and smooth, this is the most classically chocolatey bar in the set. Chocolate Banana: Milk chocolate with a 55% banana centre. The banana flavour comes from freeze-dried bananas, so it tastes like actual fruit rather than artificial banana flavouring. Choco Bee: White chocolate filled with honey caramel crisps. A sweet, crunchy bar with real honey providing the flavour base. Wild Berries with Vanilla: Milk chocolate layered with a wild berry cream (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackcurrants) and vanilla ganache. Fruity and creamy, with enough tartness from the berries to balance the sweetness. Butter Caramel: Milk chocolate filled with butter caramel cream, caramel crisps, and almond praline. This is Zotter's bestseller for a reason, the combination of salty-sweet caramel and roasted almond works well. About Zotter's hand-scooped chocolate Zotter is one of the few chocolate makers in the world that controls the entire production chain from raw cocoa bean to finished bar. Their factory in Styria, Austria, roasts, grinds, conches, and tempers all chocolate on-site. Josef Zotter coined the term "hand-scooped" to describe the process of layering fillings by hand onto long production lanes, a method that allows for complex, multi-layered flavour combinations that wouldn't be possible with conventional moulding or enrobing. Kaffebox Takesi Geisha - Coffee Collective
508 NOK
About the roaster: Coffee Collective Coffee Collective was founded in Copenhagen in 2007 by Klaus Thomsen, Peter Dupont, and Casper Engel Rasmussen, and opened its first coffee bar on Jægersborggade the following year. Thomsen won the World Barista Championship in 2006 and Rasmussen the World Cup Tasters Championship in 2008, but the company's reputation rests less on competition results than on how it buys green coffee. They buy directly from farms and publish what they pay for every single lot, a practice they helped define and now hold as a trademark on the term Direct Trade. The prices are consistently far above both the commodity market and Fair Trade minimums. The roastery sits at Godthåbsvej in Frederiksberg behind a glass wall you can watch through, the company is a certified B Corp, and it remains owned by its founders. Takesi and Mariana Iturralde Takesi sits on an old Inca route in the Yanacachi area of Bolivia, at an altitude that puts it among the highest coffee farms anywhere. Cool temperatures at that elevation slow the ripening of the cherry, which is the main reason coffees from the farm tend to show the clarity and floral character they are known for. The farm is led by Mariana Iturralde and grows Gesha alongside Java and Maragogype. Processing here is washed and deliberately controlled, with long fermentations and careful drying rather than the shortcuts that volume production usually demands. Takesi also works with smaller producers in the Caranavi region, and Coffee Collective supports that work as part of the partnership. Ten years of direct trade Coffee Collective has bought directly from Mariana for a decade, and this harvest marks the ten-year mark. They paid 198 USD per kilo of green coffee for this lot, which is many times the commodity market price and well above what most specialty coffees fetch. Their transparency report lists every purchase if you want to see how that number compares across their range. What to expect in the cup Gesha is a variety with a reputation for jasmine and bergamot aromatics, and washed processing keeps that character clean rather than layering fruit on top of it. Coffee Collective describe this lot as full-bodied, sweet, and elegant, with melon, bergamot, and peach. It suits filter brewing, where the aromatics have room to come through. Grinding to order matters more than usual with a coffee at this price, and 120 g is roughly eight to ten filter brews at a 15 g dose. The roastery sits at Godthåbsvej in Frederiksberg behind a glass wall you can watch through, the company is a certified B Corp, and it remains owned by its founders. Gichathaini and the Gikanda cooperative Gichathaini is a washing station, or factory in Kenyan terms, in Nyeri County on the eastern side of Mount Kenya. It belongs to the Gikanda Farmers Cooperative Society alongside Kangocho and Kangunu, and roughly 1,850 members deliver cherry to it. Most farm plots of a hectare or less, so a single bag of this coffee is the combined work of a large number of very small growers. The relationship goes back a long way: Gichathaini was the first Kenyan factory Coffee Collective visited, in the year they founded the company. The factory runs its own nursery where members can collect SL28, SL34, and Batian seedlings, which is how a cooperative maintains variety quality across hundreds of independent smallholdings. Controlling the coffee to export Gichathaini now has its own dry mill and cupping lab, which is unusual. In the standard Kenyan system, parchment leaves the wet mill for a third-party dry mill and often passes through the Nairobi auction, and traceability blurs at each handover. Running their own mill lets Gichathaini keep the lot intact from cherry to export container, and shortens the time coffee sits in parchment. That control is a large part of why their coffees show the clarity they do. What to expect in the cup This is the Kenyan reference profile: high acidity, firm structure, and clear fruit rather than jammy sweetness. Gooseberry and rhubarb are the tart end of that, and sea buckthorn adds a sharp, almost citrus-bitter edge. The SL28 and SL34 varieties are the main drivers here; both were selected in Kenya in the 1930s and are still the backbone of the country's specialty output despite yielding poorly. If you find Kenyan coffee too aggressive, brew slightly coarser and cooler, or give the bag a few extra days to rest. The roastery sits at Godthåbsvej in Frederiksberg behind a glass wall you can watch through, the company is a certified B Corp, and it remains owned by its founders. Victoria Atao and Finca Paulette Victoria Atao and her husband Eudis Orosco farm at high altitude in the Cusco region of Peru, using traditional Inca agroforestry methods, meaning the coffee grows under shade alongside other plants rather than in open monoculture. The farm is split into two plots: Finca Paulette, which Victoria works, and Finca Bella Vista, worked by Eudis. Both are processed at the family wet mill at Bella Vista. This lot comes specifically from Finca Paulette. Victoria's SL9 trees produce mostly yellow cherries, which sets her plot apart from the mainly red cherries picked at Bella Vista. SL9, the Gesha Inca SL9 is known in the district as Gesha Inca. It is a local mutation thought to descend from an old Ethiopian strain that has grown in the area for decades. Its low yield meant nobody paid it much attention for a long time. That has changed as producers have started planting it higher up and managing quality more carefully, which is where floral coffees like this one come from. Despite the local name, it is not the Panamanian Gesha, so treat it as its own thing rather than a cheaper substitute. How it is processed The cherries are floated first to remove unripe and damaged fruit, then pulped and fermented in their own mucilage with no added water. This dry honey step, known locally as Incahuasi fermentation, runs 24 to 36 hours in the cool mountain climate. The coffee is then fully washed and dried on raised beds at around 2200 metres, turned five to six times a day over 10 to 12 days, until moisture sits between 10 and 11.5 percent. Long, slow drying at altitude is a large part of why the cup reads as clean and floral rather than heavy. Brewing Roasted for filter, so pour-over, batch brew, or immersion rather than espresso. The floral and green-fruit end of this profile is easy to lose to a grind that is too fine or water that is too hot, so start conservative and adjust. A 200 g bag is roughly 13 brews at a 15 g dose. Kaffebox Timemore Black Mirror 3 Coffee Brew Scale
1054 NOK
The Timemore Black Mirror Basic 3 is a brewing scale built around three use cases: pour-over, espresso, and general weighing. A physical slider on the side switches between the three modes, each with its own timer behavior. In Pour-Over mode the scale shows live flow rate (g/s) and a running coffee-to-water ratio; in Espresso mode it auto-tares, starts the timer when flow is detected, and stops when the cup is removed; in Regular mode everything is manual. Compared to the Basic 2, the Basic 3 reads accurately from 0.2 g instead of 0.5 g, adds the live ratio display, and is roughly 35% thinner. It also includes an electromagnetic shield in the chassis, which keeps readings stable when the scale sits on a machine's drip tray or near magnetic catch cups, a common pain point with cheaper espresso scales. Who it's for If you already brew pour-over and want reproducible recipes, the live ratio display removes the mental math during brewing, and the flow rate readout helps you dial in a more even pour over time. For espresso, the hands-free auto-start and auto-stop is useful if you pull shots without a timer built into your machine. If you only need a basic kitchen scale, the Basic 3 is overbuilt; a standard 0.1 g kitchen scale without brewing modes will do the job for less. Kaffebox BOOKOO Themis Ultra Coffee Scale
1554 NOK
Overview The BOOKOO Themis Ultra is a mid-size coffee scale designed to work across espresso, pour-over, and batch brewing. It sits in the space between tiny espresso-only scales (like BOOKOO's own Themis Mini) and larger kitchen-style scales, with a footprint of 127 × 112 mm that fits on most espresso machine drip trays while still being wide enough to hold a pour-over dripper or two cups under a double spout. The display shows up to three metrics simultaneously, including weight, timer, and flow rate, depending on which of the four built-in modes you select: Weight, Flow, Ratio, or Auto. In Auto mode, the scale tares when you place a cup and starts timing automatically when it detects liquid. Via Bluetooth, the scale syncs with the BOOKOO N app, Beanconqueror, or Odyssey Espresso for live flow graphs, brew logging, and recipe ghosting. It also integrates directly with smart espresso machines like the Decent Espresso and Gaggiuino for auto-stop at a target yield. Why IP67 matters on a coffee scale Most coffee scales are rated IPX4 (splash-resistant) at best, and many have no water resistance at all. The Themis Ultra carries a full IP67 rating, which means it can be submerged in water without damage. In practice, that means you can rinse it under a tap after a messy backflush, wipe steam residue off without worry, or clean it thoroughly between sessions. For anyone who has lost a scale to a spill or to steam corrosion over time, this is a meaningful difference. The body is made from transparent heat-resistant polycarbonate (not glass) with an internal steel plate, which also makes it more resistant to drops than glass-topped alternatives. Kaffebox Olympia Express Moca Espresso Grinder
19054 NOK
About the Moca The Moca is Olympia Express's espresso grinder, designed from the start to sit alongside the Cremina and Maximatic and finished in the same materials and colours. It is doserless, meaning it has no dosing chamber: it grinds fresh coffee straight into the portafilter on demand, rather than storing ground coffee. The 64 mm flat burrs run at low speed so the beans are not heated during grinding, which helps preserve aroma. Grind size is set with a stepless dial on the side, so you can fine-tune as finely as the coffee and machine require. Build quality and history Olympia Express was founded in Switzerland in 1928, and the Moca has accompanied the Cremina and Maximatic as the house grinder for decades. In 2014 the company completely redesigned it, changing the operating principle, the body, and the grinding burrs. Like the espresso machines, it is largely hand-assembled from steel, aluminium, and glass, with no plastic in the parts that touch the coffee. The front is mirror-finished stainless steel, the side frames are powder-coated steel, the hopper is sealed glass, and four rubber feet keep it stable in use. Reviewers consistently note how dense and solidly built it feels for its compact size. How it works and who it suits Because it grinds directly into the portafilter with no doser, the Moca suits a single-machine espresso setup where you grind per shot and want minimal waste and fuss. It is a natural pairing for a Cremina or Maximatic, both visually and practically, though it works with any espresso machine that uses a standard portafilter. If you regularly switch between different beans and want the lowest possible retention, Olympia also makes the Moca SD, a single-dose version built around the same burrs in a different body. Choose the standard Moca if you keep one coffee in the hopper and value the classic look; choose the SD for single-dosing and bean-swapping. Moca vs. Moca SD Feature Moca (hopper) Moca SD (single dose) Feed Sealed glass hopper, about 200 g Single-dose, no standing hopper Retention Low Very low (around 0.1 g) Best for One coffee kept loaded Switching between beans Burrs 64 mm flat steel 64 mm flat steel Height 38 cm About 28.5 cm Specifications Type Electric espresso grinder, doserless, grinds into portafilter Burrs 64 mm flat, hardened special steel Grind adjustment Stepless, side-mounted dial Hopper Sealed glass, about 200 g (seven ounces) Motor power 300 W Voltage 220–240 V / 50 Hz (also available 120 V / 60 Hz) Cable length 175 cm Dimensions (W × D × H) 14.6 × 18.2 × 38 cm Weight About 5.4 kg Body Mirror-finished stainless steel front, powder-coated steel sides, glass hopper Made in Switzerland What's in the box Moca grinder Sealed glass bean hopper with lid Good to know The grind dial uses marked positions rather than printed numbers, so dialing in is done by feel and reference dots rather than a numeric scale. Kaffebox Olympia Express Moca SD Espresso Grinder
19054 NOK
About the Moca SD The Moca SD (SD for Single Dose) is the newest member of Olympia Express's Moca grinder family. Instead of holding a standing supply of beans in a hopper, it is designed to grind one dose at a time: you weigh in the beans for a single shot, grind, and the coffee goes straight into the portafilter. Retention is around 0.1 g, low enough that Olympia does not fit a bellows or blower to clear the burrs. It shares the same 64 mm flat steel burrs and 300 W motor as the hopper Moca, in a more compact body just 28.5 cm tall. Build quality and history Olympia Express was founded in Switzerland in 1928, and the Moca grinder has accompanied the Cremina and Maximatic since 1967. The SD is the most recent development of that line, built to the same standard from steel and aluminium, with a mirror-finished stainless steel front, powder-coated steel side frames, and four rubber feet for stability. A neat touch is the removable single-dose hopper: a rotary slide on its base closes automatically when you lift it off, so it seals the beans and works as a weighing vessel at the same time. Reviewers note the grinder feels dense and precisely made for its small size, in line with the rest of the Olympia range. How it works and who it suits Single-dosing suits people who switch between different beans often, or who want to grind only what they need with almost no waste or stale grounds left behind. Grinding is quick, on the order of a few seconds per dose, and the low burr speed keeps the coffee from heating up. The grinder is short enough that a portafilter rests easily at the chute, which makes for a tidy workflow on a small counter. Compared with the standard hopper Moca, the SD trades the convenience of keeping one coffee loaded for lower retention and easy bean-swapping. Choose the SD if you change beans regularly or single-dose by weight; choose the hopper Moca if you keep one coffee loaded and prefer the classic glass hopper. Moca SD vs. Moca (hopper) Feature Moca SD (single dose) Moca (hopper) Feed One dose at a time, sealing hopper Sealed glass hopper, about 200 g Retention Very low (around 0.1 g) Low Best for Switching between beans One coffee kept loaded Burrs 64 mm flat steel 64 mm flat steel Height 28.5 cm 38 cm Specifications Type Single-dose electric espresso grinder, grinds into portafilter Burrs 64 mm flat, hardened special steel Motor 300 W DC Retention About 0.1 g, no bellows or blowing device Grind adjustment Stepless, side-mounted dial Hopper Removable single-dose hopper that seals when lifted off Voltage 220–240 V / 50 Hz (also available 120 V / 60 Hz) Cable length 175 cm Dimensions (W × D × H) 14.6 × 22 × 28.5 cm Weight About 5.4 kg Body Mirror-finished stainless steel front, powder-coated steel sides Made in Switzerland What's in the box Moca SD grinder Removable single-dose hopper with sealing base Good to know The grind dial uses marked positions rather than printed numbers, so dialing in is done by feel and reference points...

KaffeBox Coffee Bean Tube / Cellar

Single-dose storage, simplified The Kaffebox Bean Storage Tube is a straightforward way to pre-portion whole bean coffee. Fill a tube with your dose, cap it, and it's ready when you are. The 70 ml volume fits roughly 24–27 g of beans, enough for a double dose or two single doses, whether you're brewing pour-over, AeroPress, or espresso. Built to travel The tubes are made from durable plastic that handles being tossed in a backpack, bike bag, or suitcase without cracking. If you ride to work, hike with a portable brewing setup, or just want a few pre-weighed doses at the office, these hold up well on the move. Weigh your beans once at home, fill the tubes, and skip the scale until you're back. Why single-dosing matters Keeping beans in a hopper exposes the whole bag's worth to air every time you open the grinder. Single-dosing means each portion stays sealed until you're ready to grind it, reducing the time beans spend exposed to oxygen. These tubes make portioning quick: weigh once, fill a few tubes, and your coffee is grab-and-go for the rest of the week. Specifications Volume 70 ml (to brim) Typical bean capacity 24–27 g (varies with bean size and density) Dosing 1 double dose or 2 single doses Material Durable plastic Colour Black Branding Embossed Kaffebox logo
Kaffebox ODZ Coffee Dripper Benjarong Series
2554 NOK
A bone china dripper with Benjarong painting The Benjarong Series sits at the top of ODZ's range. The dripper itself is the same bone china pour-over body ODZ makes in Thailand, but the surface is decorated by hand in the Benjarong style. Benjarong (Thai for "five colors") is a traditional Thai overglaze enamel technique, historically tied to the royal court, in which fine multicolored patterns are painted onto the piece and often picked out in gold. Because the work is done by hand, no two pieces are identical, and each design is produced in a limited run rather than as a continuous stock item. How it brews Under the decoration, the body is the standard ODZ design: ten deep, wave-like ribs radiating from a wide central cavity. The ribs hold the paper away from the wall so water and air can move freely down the bed, and the shape is built to take both cone-shaped filters (V60 #01 size) and flat-bottom wave filters, so you can switch brewing styles with one dripper. Bone china holds heat well and is lighter than standard ceramic, which helps keep the temperature steady through the pour. Choosing between the ODZ series All three ODZ lines share the same dripper body and the same brewing behavior, so the choice is really about the finish. The Color Series is a single solid color, the Artist Series carries free-form painted motifs, and the Benjarong Series uses the traditional Thai enamel work and is released in the smallest quantities. If you mainly want the brewing performance, the Color Series is the most affordable way in. The Benjarong Series is for buyers who want the decorative piece as much as the brewer. Specifications Material Bone china Origin Handmade in Thailand Finish Hand-painted Benjarong enamel Dimensions 14 x 14 x 6.5 cm Weight Approx. 300 g Filter compatibility Cone (V60 #02) and flat-bottom wave filters Brew capacity 1 to 2 cups Rib design 10 wave-shaped ribs around a central cavity Availability Limited edition

Kaffebox Weber Workshops Glass Bean Cellar
3959 NOK
Why single-dose storage matters Every time you open a coffee bag or canister, you let in fresh oxygen. Do that daily over a couple of weeks and the last doses in the bag taste noticeably flatter than the first. The Bean Cellar sidesteps this by dividing a bag into individual portions the moment you open it. Each tube is sealed with a one-way valve cap: CO2 released by freshly roasted beans pushes upward through the valve, displacing the lighter oxygen. The beans end up sitting in a CO2-rich environment until you're ready to grind. Weber notes that ambient room light does not meaningfully affect freshness in their testing, so the clear glass is not a concern as long as you avoid direct sunlight. Teak & Brass vs. Stabilized Maple Onyx The glass cellars, aluminum caps, valve system, brass handle, and stainless steel funnel are the same across both variants. The difference is the caddy and the included brush. The Teak version uses a solid teak caddy with brass hardware and comes with a rosewood and brass coffee brush. The Stabilized Maple Onyx version uses European maple that has been dried below 5% moisture and pressure-infused with clear resin in an autoclave, a stabilization technique borrowed from knife-making and luthiery that makes the wood resistant to warping from moisture and temperature changes. The Onyx caddy and its matching brush are then flame-polished (literally set on fire), which creates a dark, charred surface with natural surface imperfections and fissures in the grain. Weber considers these part of the character of the finish, so expect variation between units.
